How the Pay-As-You-Go plan works

What is Pay-as-you-go?

Pay-as-you-go is a fair and convenient accounting model, allowing users of Cloud4Y services to pay only for those resources that are used by virtual machines at a particular time.

Why Pay-as-you-go instead of Allocation Pool?

It is simple, with Pay-as-you-go you only pay for the resources that are used by your virtual machines. With Allocation Pool, you pay for a certain amount of resources, no matter if you use them or not.

How do I move to a Pay-as-you-go payment system?

Pay-as-you-go is available free of charge to all Cloud4Y customers who signed a contract with us.

How do I understand what is currently charged for and what is not?

Recording (billing) of consumed resources is done each hour. The system checks whether the virtual machines are on or off, whether the parameters of the virtual machines have changed, and records the consumption. You are not charged for Virtual cores (vCPU) and RAM (vRAM) when the virtual machine is shut down. As for disk space, the billing is taken into account only for gigabytes reserved for your virtual machine(s). Since the information on disks is stored constantly, the status of the virtual machine does not affect the cost. The same is with the IP address and backup space. 

It also happens that you need to temporarily increase the capacity of your virtual server and then reduce it again. Then billing will take into account both increase and decrease of consumption, which will allow you to save money.

How do I know the amount of resources I consumed in a month?

At the beginning of each month, you receive closing documents, which indicate the total amount of consumption for each individual resource, as well as the invoice to pay for services.

What will happen in case I accidentally increase the parameters of my server? Will I get the appropriate bill?

You can change the amount of resources via the cloud control panel, which excludes accidental clicks of buttons. If you have concerns that this may happen, we can fix certain maximum for added resources, which you can increase only after contacting Cloud4Y technical support.

Can I choose another billing plan rather than Pay-as-you-go?

Sure. If for some reason Pay-as-you-go is not suitable for you, you can contact your personal manager to discuss another payment system, such as Allocation Pool or prepayment.
